We left Interlaken around 7 a.m. and took three different trains before arriving in La Speiza, Italy, around 3:30 p.m. We had planned to do a little hiking along the Cinque Terre but it was raining when we arrived so we decided to go directly to the hostel instead.
We also found out that two of the trails along the Cinque Terre are closed due to weather, so we will need to begin in town two tomorrow as we make our way north to the next three towns. I will write much more tomorrow about our hiking along the Cinque Terre.
We rested at the hostel for a couple of hours before going out to dinner. We went to a place called Carpe Diem, and it was incredible. I had some ravioli as the first course followed by some beef for the second course. For dessert, we both had something similar to carmel flan. It was a tasty first meal in Italy.

We are both looking forward to sampling the food tomorrow as we hike through the small villages along the Cinque Terre route.
